Day 1: Exploring the Beauty of Mt. Carmel and Tiberias
We begin our journey by picking you up at Ben Gurion airport and taking you on a drive via Tel-Aviv to Mt. Carmel. Here, you will have the opportunity to visit the Stela Maris Monastery in Haifa and take in the stunning views of the city, which is located on the evergreen Carmel Mountain, and observe the lovely Mediterranean Sea. From there, we will continue on to the Galilee area, where you will spend the night in the picturesque town of Tiberias.
Day 2: Discovering the Sea of Galilee and Nazareth
On our second day, we will take a tour around the Sea of Galilee, visiting the historical Capernaum and Tabgha. According to the Christian tradition, it is considered the home of Jesus Christ and his disciples during his time of preaching in Galilee, and It is believed that Jesus performed many miracles here. Many religious sites are located in Capernaum, including the remains of an ancient synagogue and the House of Peter, said to be the home of Jesus' disciple Peter. In the afternoon, we will make our way to the city of Nazareth, where you will have the opportunity to visit the well of Mary and the Church of the Annunciation. Nazareth is considered to be of significant importance in Christian tradition as it is believed to be the childhood home of Jesus Christ. The Church of the Annunciation n Nazareth marks the spot where the Angel Gabriel is said to have announced to the Virgin Mary that she would give birth to Jesus. Additionally, Nazareth is famous for its delicious sweets, and we recommend you get a sweet souvenir from there. After our visit to Nazareth, we will drive to Jerusalem for an enjoyable dinner and an overnight stay. Remember to bring warm clothes for the chilly night in Jerusalem.
Day 3: Exploring the Old City of Jerusalem
On our third day, we will take a tour of the Old City of Jerusalem, starting at Jaffa Gate and making our way to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in the Christian Quarter. On the way there, we will walk via the Cardo, an ancient road that dates back to the Roman period and runs through the center of the Old City from north to south, and is lined with authentic shops, taverns, and other businesses. Then, we will continue on to the Jewish Quarter of the Old City, where you will have the opportunity to visit the Western Wall and, if possible, the Temple Mount. The Western Wall, also known as the Kotel, is considered one of the most sacred Jewish sites. Many Jewish people come to the Kotel to pray and leave written wishes in the cracks of the wall.
Day 4: Visiting Bethlehem and Ein Kerem
On our fourth day, we will visit Bethlehem (. if the situation will allow it), a city on the West Bank believed to be the birthplace of Jesus Christ, according to the Christian tradition. Our trip will continue on to Ein Kerem, a neighborhood in Jerusalem famous for its pretty gardens, fascinating history, and the Hadassah Hospital. After this, we will drive via the new city of Jerusalem to the Knesset, the Israeli parliament, and have a view of the Menorah, Yad Vashem, and the Talpiot Promenade, overlooking the Old City of Jerusalem and the site of the Ethiopian Community Pilgrimage Holiday. We will spend the night again in Jerusalem.
Day 5: Flying Back Home
On the final day of our journey, we will make our way to the airport via Latrun, where you will have the opportunity to reflect on the incredible experience you have just had. From the stunning views of Mt. Carmel to the historic sites of the Sea of Galilee and Jerusalem, this tour provides a rich and colorful introduction to all that Israel has to offer.
